shows coming up and another cloud box

here are some little previews of some work that i am putting into a show at the brunswick street gallery in march. these works are etchings collages with photographs, old stamps, split pins and other prints etc. they will be framed and for sale!

the cloud box is another little sketch i have been playing with. a little abstract image for an abstract thought.

the cloud box

here is monsieur millimetre catching a cloud and sending it off to australia. it is a new little idea i am working on for the cloud book. i shouldn't say much more so that when i finally get around to finding a publisher, you won't already know the whole story!

the other image is a landscape i did in my sketch book of an old photo looking down towards torquay in victoria.

more to come soon x

back to the studio

hello and happy new year!... so today was my first official day back in the studio! i was quite excited. i tore up some paper for an edition of etchings, i cleaned up, i set out all ready to print and i bought a new work book. it's a lovely hahnemuhle 25x25cm one... big pages for big ideas!

i have made a few illustrations. this one is for insync surveys. if they don't like it, i think it will go into my little book i am making. mon. millimetre is riding the unicycle here.

also some painting ideas and some cook book drawings/patterns for adrian's cook book.

and then at the end of the day...

beach time! we live but 8 doors from the shore. it's a lovely sea change.

trying to start again

back in the studio in melbourne, garage studio. nothing works, the scanner, the printer, the internet. i feel a bit lost but with a million ideas... so i am sorry, there are no good pictures to go with this post (the camera is out of battery too, so i have snapped some journal pages on the photo booth thingy). finding ones feet after being away so long is hard, but we'll get there. one day at a time. once i can work ut all the technologies i want to scan all of my journal and make it into an online book... be patient ok!

ladders and london

this is a quick scan of an image that i made today. i am making myself keep active by developing ideas for the cycling clouds book. these are the ladders that the people carry the bicycles up to the clouds from the city on. i'd like to work some collage into it... but it is just a sketch so far. what do you think?

travelling along the seas of something

a bit more re working of the book and i think i am almost there. thank goodness for photoshop! such a brilliant and versatile tool. so i think the book is getting closer to the end.

you can see the progression of the right side of this section from my last post to now. it was just too heavy before and especially when it was printed... no good. what do you think of this section now?
