New Giclee Prints up in My Shop!

Introducing the first of a new series of limited edition giclee prints! Yes I have finally made the leap!

The series of potted gardens draws on my love for pot plants, indoor plants and gardens.

The giclee prints are printed in Melbourne on 300gsm 100% acid-free and archival cotton rag paper. The prints are in editions of 25 and each print is signed and numbered. They are available now in my Shop and will soon be available through Hello Polly and at Klopper Wares.

Perfect gift for Christmas don't you think and especially when paired with our cards. ;)

new work and a new gallery

Here is a new textile piece that I have been working on for a while. I think it is my favorite so far and I am not sure that I can give it up.

I made these collages and watercolours today too which are sort of mock-up for some large paintings that I am going to make. I am enjoying burnt orange at the moment and golden yellow as you can tell! These ideas need a bit more work, but I think they are getting somewhere.

I have joined an online gallery Art2Muse. It is based in Sydney and I will be having a show with them in March... Visit the my page here.

studio love

It has been a big week and weekend. there is a lot going on at the moment... mostly fun things really. i have been doing lots of driving lately. a weekend down in Somers for a wonderful dinner party at a friend's house. we went for a soggy beach walk and i visited Pamela who wowed me with her scarf eco-printed with eucalyptus cinerea! The reddest red i have ever seen!

The explorer you see here is a quick snap of the etching plate with a fantastic aquatint thanks to Jennifer's wonderful studio in Red Hill.

The top pics are my studio and the one's below 'Melbourne' are of Laura's studio... I hope you don't mind Laura! I went to Laura's studio on the weekend too for a little craft day. I was mostly in awe of all the beautiful things to look at.

the cloud box

here is monsieur millimetre catching a cloud and sending it off to australia. it is a new little idea i am working on for the cloud book. i shouldn't say much more so that when i finally get around to finding a publisher, you won't already know the whole story!

the other image is a landscape i did in my sketch book of an old photo looking down towards torquay in victoria.

more to come soon x

old things swimming about

revisiting an older image from two years ago now. this was something i was doing before i left for london. i have been digging up old things and looking at them again.

i've also started to map out my 'cyling the clouds' book.... some sneak peaks coming soon.

the beginnings of a book

so i have gotten back into drawing and watercolour. i feel like it has been a long break after working with textiles and the computer so much. i have started to lay out some ideas for the cycling clouds story. here is a little preview of what is developing. of course this is literally in its earliest of stages, but you have to start somewhere!

cloud books and cycling

today has been one of those quiet days to oneself at one's desk. i have been riding the high seas of my work, listening to the ebbs and flows of it and being washed away by the magic of the medium of watercolour and collage.

i have been struggling to make the concertina book work, so i have taken time out to make these watercolours. i feel like i have been whisked off on another path already, leaving the panel behind to fend for itself... i feel a bit guilty, but i am loving the cloud books. the cloud books are pop-up books that fold out the clouds and the sea. if you agitate the fold the clouds dance. it's magical.

the cycling man is a character design in its early stages of a story that is bubbling up in my head. i will reveal more as i develop him and his story.
